In education, Remedial therapy focuses on helping students who have fallen behind in their studies, providing extra support to help them catch up to their peers. This might include tutoring, specialized instruction, or targeted practice in areas such as reading, math or language skills.
Remediërende Terapie
Remediërende Terapie is gebaseer op die konsep daarvan om ‘n kind te assesseer sodat daar vasgestel kan word waar in die kind se skoolloopbaan die leerprobleem begin het, asook binne watter leerarea die probleem lê. Daarna word ‘n unieke, individuele program ontwerp vir die kind. Hierdie program fokus dan op die kind se probleemareas sodat die probleem volkome oorkom kan word.
Remediërende Terapie moenie met ekstra klasse verwar word nie, aangesien ekstra klasse bloot die her-onderrig is van werk wat reeds in die klas behandel is. Remediërende Terapie spreek die probleem aan vanuit sy oorsprong en lê weer die fondasie met die korrekte inligting om te verseker dat die kind die probleem oorkom en dus ‘n suksesvolle skoolloopbaan kan geniet.
Remedial Therapy
Remedial Therapy is based on the concept to assess a child in order to determine where in the child’s development the problem area occurred. After this assessment an unique plan is designed to fit the child’s specific needs to ensure academic progress.
Remedial therapy should not be confused with extra classses or re-teaching. Remedial therapy addresses the core of the problem where it originated by going back to the basic principals of the subject at hand in order to ensure that the child can enjoy school.
